Volunteer

There are lots of ways for you to give your time and energy!

Extraordinary allies.

Volunteers are vital to our mission of empowerment and community integration for adults with a developmental disability! Our volunteers enrich the lives of the people we support by sharing fellowship and fun experiences (both in and out of the Heart Havens homes!) and by helping us maintain our homes. Whether you'd like to volunteer as part of a group or on your own, we can find a place for you!

Home and Garden Guardians

As you might imagine, it takes a lot to keep all of our homes in good repair and looking their best. We depend on volunteers to help us do this! Volunteers help us paint, take care of yards, do small handyman repairs, power wash, and more. Groups looking to volunteer might plan a work day to rake leaves, pull weeds, paint, or any number of other tasks. Individuals who volunteer with us often offer to be our "handymen on call" and go to our houses when we need small repairs. The efforts of our Home and Garden Guardians mean that we spend less on home maintenance, which helps our budget go further.

Fun and fellowship

We welcome groups of volunteers to visit our homes to have fun and fellowship with the people we support. You could plan a cookout, a game night, an ice cream social, or just about anything else! If you'd like to plan an event at a park, your church, or elsewhere in the community and invite Heart Havens, that's great too. Simply contact us to get the planning started!

Events

Throughout the year, we have opportunities for one-time volunteering when we have events or are preparing large mailings. The largest of these occurs between Thanksgiving and Christmas as we prepare our annual Heart Havens Month mailing. Stay tuned to our social media channels and this website to learn more about volunteering with mailings and events!

If you would like to host an event to benefit Heart Havens, please contact us.
